Return Policy

Simple. If you don't like it for any reason, return it for a full refund of purchase price within one week (7 days) of receiving your hook. Replacement is also of course an option if you choose. There is no refund on shipping charges.

Limited Lifetime warranty.

If any handling equipment I sell ever comes apart or fails to live up to my claims, I will replace it for free or refund your payment. Your choice. Again, there is no refund on shipping and you are responsible for shipping me the broken or damaged item before you are granted a refund or replacement. I will pay shipping for any replacement items though.

What is not covered:

Reasonable and usual wear and tear. Shafts will break or bend if used as a pry bar. If used correctly, they will not bend or break. I assume no responsibility for abused shafts. DO NOT use them as a pry bar when flipping something in the field. This is what usually causes them to become damaged. If using a field hook, hook it and pull straight back. The head is very heavy duty and well attached. It shouldn't straighten out at all or come loose. If it does and you can't or don't want to fix it, send it back and I will replace it or repair it if you for some reason have an emotional bond to your original hook. If you are using a hook for non-intended purposes, such as field herping (flipping logs, tin etc) with a lightweight arboreal or cage hook, use at your own risk. They aren't designed for heavy field use.

Rubber or vinyl tubing used on pin sticks is not warrantied. I don't think the vinyl will ever wear out but the rubber does need replacing once or twice a year as it does tend to dry rot. It can be purchased for a few cents a foot at any hardware store though so it isn't worth bothering with shipping back and forth for either of us. I use mostly vinyl for these anyway but now and then someone insists that they want rubber.

Golf style grips or hand wrapped leather grips on any item is NOT covered under warranty. They wear out eventually and may need replaced. Again, you can get either for under a dollar, though I suggest having a golf store replace golf grips. They can be tricky and frustrating to get on.

Surface rust. You may notice from time to time a bit of surface rust on your equipment especially if left outside in the rain. This can easily be removed with a very light rubbing with fine grit sand paper or steel wool. A light rub of mineral oil afterwards will help prevent it from coming back and will not leave any harmful residue on the steel that would irritate any snake you pick up. Please do not use anything like WD-40 or other petroleum products on snake handling equipment.
